Some people seem to thing the way
We speak means more than what we say.
"If words cause pain they must be bad
And are evil if they make us sad."
Well how nice to pick the way we feel
But sometimes what we pick ain't real
Since not everything is sweet and light
How do we speak of things not right?
How can we warn without alarm
Or open eyes without causing harm?
'Cause even though most souls DO fly
You've got to know some people lie...
How wise are words that carry no weight?
How strong is love if it's really hate?
How brave is kindness, I want to know,
If it proves to only be a show?
For if you can say all the nice words right
And keep the peace and sleep at night
But clearly hide behind a mask.
I have to ask...
What good is your vow if it's only a lie?
What good is your love if your lovers all cry?
What good's the word "faithful" if it's coming from you
'Cause you know that we know you're not being true?
And if your words all mean nothing then what good are you?
